With OpenLDAP, clearly managing the information available on the network has been made easy, regardless of the platform!
OpenLDAP is the open implementation of the LDAP protocol which has been developed directly by the Open Source community as part of the Open LDAP Project. LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) is a protocol used as a standard interface to catalogue and render all the shared resources (users, applications, servers, PCs and printers) Internet accessible, as well as providing a means to exchange information.
OpenLDAP is one of our first winning endeavours. Starting with the first Suite back in 1998, we have worked to make the solution secure and reliable. OpenLDAP has grown to become the most secure, reliable, and scalable LDAP protocol implementation in the IT world.
This technology has been adopted by companies, government agencies, and private individuals worldwide for diverse applications and across all platforms (Android, AIX, Mac OSX, Solaris, Microsoft Windows, Linux, Z/OS).
OpenLDAP enables cost reductions and a guaranteed, measurable ROI as well as a reduction in the number of management processes in heterogeneous networks. Through the network, the user can immediately access all the resources specified in their profile, no matter where they are, ensuring comprehensive access to information.
The policy, anagraphic, and feature date for each internal department in the company is made available to anyone on the network through an accessible, central server directory with different levels of security. Information protection is ensured via access control lists; communication between the client/server can also be encrypted. Access identification can be implemented through SASL/GSSAPI and Kerberos to add an additional layer of control and integration with the Single Sign On systems. In addition, the LDAP protocol is used to communicate with numerous databases and is compatible with many applications.
